5664 Thornhill Drive…termite proof! Ha!
I grew up in the house across the street from 5664, at 5667 Thornhill Dr.. I believe that my home could be one of the oldest in Montclair. It was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Funk who owned and ran the market where 7-Eleven is located. My family moved into the 5667 house in 1942, when I was about four-years old and lived there until 1962. They then sold the house to Montclair Presbyterian Church and moved to 6214 Aspinwall Rd., where they lived until they passed away and where I live now. Wonderful memories. Correction: The address is 5677 Thornhill Drive, not 5667. Diane Adele Wrasse Hill
Yes, the house was right across the street. The house at 5677 Thornhill was built around the same time as the Funks grocery store, which was about 1925. It is fairly old but not the oldest. There are a few from the late teens. We both lived in the same house. I wish I could find photos of the house from back then. Dorothy
