  1. So many happy memories! I worked at Ogilvie’s Bakery one Christmas. So busy and so fun. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas!

  2. This was great. My grandfather and Dad owned Montclair Liquors . This was before my Dad married and I was born.

  3. Thank you Dots for the travel back in time! Many fond memories! Do you recall the big lit star that was viewable from Mountain Blvd as one traveled east from Thornhill toward Colton? Peaceful Blessings!

  4. I noticed the first picture of a “Montclarion” in this series from the early ’40s was addressed to “Mrs. Lohry, 10025 Broadway Terrace.” That would have been Ruth, who lived there until the late ’60s, and maybe longer. My parents lived at 120 Taurus from 1948 to 1954, and were close friends of Charlotte and Joe Campbell and their daughter Jill, who lived above us, a couple doors down from Ruth, on Broadway Terrace. Charlotte hung out with Ruth, who liked to bend an elbow.
